"What Do I Do Next?
A First-Year Blueprint for Film Graduates"
Lecture duration: 2 - 4 hours. Delivered by: Paul Wyatt
In a Nutshell
A practical guide to help recent graduates successfully navigate their first year, offering an insider's view on how to get noticed, get hired, and thrive in the screen industries.
Your Guide: Paul Wyatt
Paul Wyatt is a filmmaker whose creative work as a writer, producer, and director has produced impactful video content for major brands and institutions, including Adobe, D&AD, WWF, The Design Museum, Universal Music, and The Royal College of Art. He has also taught at Metfilm School and mentored at the University of the Arts London. His expertise spans the full production lifecycle, from hands-on shooting and directing to motion graphics and post-production. But Paul's greatest insight comes from having been on both sides of the filmmaking process: he has built and managed creative teams and filmmaking crews, and this experience has given him a unique understanding of what producers are looking for when hiring and collaborating across the screen industries. This lecture, rooted in his experience, will offer a practical guide to leveraging a "specialist generalist" skill set—the key to getting noticed and hired in a competitive landscape.
